West of the Jordan

In the heart of the Salish Sea, 70 kilometres west of Victoria, the Jordan River–once a ‘Garden of Eden’–is now devoid of life. Copper mining 40 years ago, and its residue, wiped out the salmon runs that supported the Pacheedaht people.
